Phenom XXL V2 is an upgraded version of the original XXL and the largest 3D printer designed by Peopoly for the Phenom series. With an industrial-grade 23.8 inch 4K panel, XXL V2 is ideal for high-volume production and extra-large model. With all-new build plate designs, Phenom XXL V2 is as easy to run as other Phenoms while offering the ability to print large models without splitting. XXL V2 also runs on the same Deft and Neo resins as Phenom so users can stock the same consumables.

Phenom XXL V2 utilizes Vlare Core firmware/software so users can easily move up from their existing smaller LCD printer. While users could set Phenom exposure freely, it is best to first use the Peopoly Deft resin designed for large printers for the highest success rate and LCD longevity.

Gigantic MSLA Printing

Phenom XXL is the largest 3D printer by Peopoly for the Phenom Series. Using the same MSLA technology and improvements in the light engine, we developed XXL, a printer that has 22 times the build volume of a Formlabs Form 3.

Fast MSLA printing

Unlike the brand’s previous printers in the Moai series (which use laser), Phenom uses the MSLA (LCD LED) approach. Noir uses the monochrome panel that increases print speed by about 50-80% over printers with color panels.

MSLA is much faster than other resin technology when printing a large object or a full plate of small objects because the entire layer is cured of resin. Peopoly’s customized light engine has even more light distribution than other printers using MSLA technology and a cooling system to improve print results while extending the life of the mask.

Phenom Noir utilizes a widely adapted Chitubox firmware/software so users can easily move up from their existing smaller LCD printer. While users could set Phenom exposure freely, it is best to first use the Peopoly Deft resin designed for large printers for the highest success rate and LCD longevity.

Faster, Sharper, Rock Solid MSLA Printing

Introducing Phenom Prime, it boasts an all-new 5448 × 3064 resolution (5.5K HD) panel with a best-in-class 51 um pixel pitch. The monochrome panel has a significantly higher light transmission rate that leads to an over 70% reduction in exposure time. When used in conjunction with Peopoly Deft resin and Peopoly FEP film, users can expect a 100% increase in speed over the current Phenom. Prime also has 3 times longer LCD panel expected lifespan than Phenom and sports the newly designed cooling system to handle the heat from printing. With a build volume of 276 × 155 x 400 mm, Phenom Prime is 400% bigger than Form3 and 500% faster when printing at full capacity.

A NEW RESOLUTION
Peopoly has chosen to fit the new Phenom Prime with a 5.5K, 5448 x 3064 pixel-sized monochrome screen.

The original Peopoly Phenom had a 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) screen with a total print area of 276 x 155 mm, which allowed it to print at a resolution of 72 microns – a fairly decent granularity regarding the absolute massive print area. Housing the same sized build-space, but thanks to a better, higher-detailed screen, the Prime now has a resolution of 51 microns. Quite a step up and a similar resolution to what you’d find on your day-to-day, wayyyy smaller budget resin printers, but on a much bigger scale. Exciting!

MONOCHROME SCREEN
Not only has the Phenom Prime been upgraded with a higher resolution screen, but while at it, Peopoly also made it monochrome.

Mono screens have become pretty much the industry standard in recent months. Due to the better light permeability, the curing process gets sped up quite a bit (from 6-8 seconds per layer to 2-3), as well as prolonging the lifespan of the panel up to three times due to less light exposure. A longer-lasting screen and quicker prints. What’s not to like?

BUILD VOLUME UNCHANGED
In terms of the build volume, no changes have been made, which means you get the same huge 276 x 155 x 400 mm print space in the Phenom Prime as you do the Phenom. The exterior dimensions of the machine also remain identical, at 452 x 364 x 780 mm. It’s a very impressive size for a resin 3D printer and one of the biggest out there commercially available.

NEWLY DESIGNED COOLING SYSTEM
The bigger a resin printer gets, the more cooling it needs. With the array of LEDs flaring up every other second, a lot of heat is generated that needs to be cooled down to prolong the printer’s lifespan and allow for successful prints in the first place.

When we reviewed the original Phenom around a year or so ago, its fans straight-up reminded us of a jet engine; the cooling system on the printer really was rather loud. However, we do not hold it against the printer, as it is the nature of the beast.

For the new Phenom Prime, Peopoly has stated to have befitted it with a newly designed cooling system. Hopefully, this means we have a stronger but quieter system and not a bigger and louder one. Time will tell.

CHITU SYSTEMS CONTROLLER
The new Phenom Prime is said to come with the “latest” Chitu Systems controller, a board that can apparently output up to 8K resolution with faster processors. This is perhaps a nod to the future, when greater resolution screens may come into play at some point. Nothing is confirmed, of course, but it’s good to know that the board can handle it, should it ever become a thing.
