With a massive build volume of 400 x 400 x 450 mm, the Kobra Max allows for huge prints. Thanks to its automatic leveling system, LeviQ, and its carborundum glass bed, first layers and print adhesion are superb and, once set up, required no adjustments between prints. Combined with the printer’s robust chassis, its dual geared extruder, and Volcano-style hot end, the Kobra Max has almost all the tools for large 3D printing. Too bad Anycubic didn’t go all out with a larger spool holder actually suitable for large filament spools or larger bore nozzles to cut back on days-long print times.
The Kobra Plus comes with a carborundum glass build plate, instead of the Kobra’s PEI magnetic sheet. This sort of glass bed has been around a long old time now and most people who’ve used a 3D printer before have probably printed on this. It does a solid job, but we’d have preferred the PEI which is a little more convenient and usable. Heat wise, it’ll get up to 100 °C, which is bang on par for most basic consumer FDM 3D printers.
Anycubic claims the Kobra 2 can reach a maximum print speed of 250 mm/s, with a “default speed” of 150 mm/s, which is fast enough to print a Benchy in 30 minutes. To achieve these speeds, the Kobra 2 relies on a dual-gear, direct-drive extruder, which aims to prevent filament slip for more accurate extrusion and flow control, as well as a 60W “high-power” hot end to improve the printer’s extrusion rate. A 4W cooling fan, meanwhile – which Anycubic says can reach up to 7,000 RPM – and an “optimized wind duct” to help cool things down.
The Anycubic Vyper is your typical bed-slinging Ender 3-style 3D printer. All axes of movement run along V-slot aluminum extrusions (stylishly closed off on the X/Z gantry, which adds to the printer’s looks.) Z-axis movement is driven by a dual stepper setup, not synchronized by a belt as seen on printers such as the Artillery Genius, but with dual optical end-stops that synchronize the ends of the X-axis gantry on print head homing. The Vyper’s hot end can reach 260 ℃ – typical of PTFE-lined hot ends. You can comfortably print commonly available filaments including PETG. You won’t be printing hotter engineering materials (or composites, for that matter – the Vyper comes with a plain brass nozzle.) The heated bed can hit 110 ℃, plenty hot enough to manage warp-happy materials such as PETG and ABS.

The 4Max Metal by Anycubic is a successor of the 4Max Pro, modified for working with the filaments filled with metal powder. Using these materials is technically a more complex task than printing with regular filaments. Metal-filled filaments (especially the ones with steel powder) are very abrasive and require a printer with a different filament loading mechanism as well as a different print head construction.

With 5,760 x 3,600 px resolution, Anycubic Photon Mono X 6K's screen has a total number of over 20 million pixels, which is 125% higher than Anycubic Photon Mono X and its rivals' 4K resolution screen. Equipped with a 9.25’’ 6K exposure screen, the printer provides a large print size of 245*197*122mm and high accuracy of 34μm. The high-precision Z-axis ball screw combined to deliver fine details. The Photon Mono uses 405nm UV resin, a material that you need to handle safely when in an uncured state to avoid injury. The resin can be harmful when making contact with skin, so make sure to wear gloves when pouring, cleaning up, or handling uncured resin. I also make sure I’m wearing gloves when removing the build platform after a print, as the resin tends to pool on top of the platform and can drip off while the platform is being removed. The build platform on the Photon Mono has a triangular profile, which lets any resin on top slowly drip down during printing.

The 4Max Metal by Anycubic is a successor of the 4Max Pro, modified for working with the filaments filled with metal powder. Using these materials is technically a more complex task than printing with regular filaments. Metal-filled filaments (especially the ones with steel powder) are very abrasive and require a printer with a different filament loading mechanism as well as a different print head construction.
Anycubic sells the 316L filament 1.75 mm in diameter for the 4Max Metal. The stainless steel infill was developed jointly with Uprise3D. The prints made using this material have a shrinkage rate from 17% to 25% after molding, which should be kept in mind when designing a 3D model.
After printing a model must go through two additional steps of post-processing:
heat treatment in a chamber oven to evaporate the binder;
high-temperature sintering of the model to achieve the required mechanical properties.
To do all that you will need an oven that can maintain a temperature high enough for debinding (the removal of binders), as well as a furnace for sintering metal parts. These units aren’t included in the package and can be bought separately. To fully evaporate the binder it is recommended to heat the parts to 100-140 °C (but no more than 200 °C) for 4-6 hours. The sintering will require heating the part to 1500 °C (but no more than 1550 °C) in an inert gas environment (nitrogen or argon).

The Anycubic 4Max Metal features a build volume of 270 x 210 x 200 mm with slightly shorter (by 5 mm) Y and Z axes compared to the 4Max Pro that wasn’t designed for using metal-filled filaments. The fully enclosed design allows the printer to maintain the temperature required for printing with the 316L filament. The print bed (that can be heated up to 100 °C) is held in place by bulldog clamps that make it easy to remove the platform. The bed is made of special material that provides the best adhesion for printing with the 316L filament. There is no automatic bed leveling option.
To reliably work with abrasive plastics, the 3D printer features an improved extruder and a steel nozzle with a diameter of 0.5 mm. Unpleasant smells that appear during printing are held off by an air filtering system. A special brass brush for clearing the nozzle before printing is mounted to the print platform. The user manual includes recommendations to add automatic cleaning comands into the escape sequence.

Anycubic sells the 316L filament 1.75 mm in diameter for the 4Max Metal. The stainless steel infill was developed jointly with Uprise3D. The prints made using this material have a shrinkage rate from 17% to 25% after molding, which should be kept in mind when designing a 3D model.
After printing a model must go through two additional steps of post-processing:
heat treatment in a chamber oven to evaporate the binder;
high-temperature sintering of the model to achieve the required mechanical properties.
To do all that you will need an oven that can maintain a temperature high enough for debinding (the removal of binders), as well as a furnace for sintering metal parts. These units aren’t included in the package and can be bought separately. To fully evaporate the binder it is recommended to heat the parts to 100-140 °C (but no more than 200 °C) for 4-6 hours. The sintering will require heating the part to 1500 °C (but no more than 1550 °C) in an inert gas environment (nitrogen or argon).

The 4Max Metal by Anycubic is a successor of the 4Max Pro, modified for working with the filaments filled with metal powder. The Photon Mono uses 405nm UV resin, a material that you need to handle safely when in an uncured state to avoid injury. The resin can be harmful when making contact with skin, so make sure to wear gloves when pouring, cleaning up, or handling uncured resin. I also make sure I’m wearing gloves when removing the build platform after a print, as the resin tends to pool on top of the platform and can drip off while the platform is being removed. The build platform on the Photon Mono has a triangular profile, which lets any resin on top slowly drip down during printing.
